Ceftazidime

A third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with excellent activity against Gram-negative bacteria, notably Pseudomonas aeruginosa, making it critical for treating complicated infections like hospital-acquired pneumonia, sepsis, and meningitis. It is typically given by injection. It achieves its broad coverage by being resistant to many beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria.
