Deferasirox

An oral iron chelating agent used to remove excess iron from the body (iron overload) in patients receiving frequent blood transfusions (e.g., in thalassemia). It works by binding tightly to iron ($\text{Fe}^{3+}$), forming a complex that is then excreted, preventing organ damage from iron toxicity.
