The potassium salt of diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Unlike the sodium salt, the potassium salt is highly soluble and has a faster onset of action, making it the preferred choice for relief of acute pain, such as primary dysmenorrhea, dental pain, and acute migraine attacks. It acts by inhibiting the COX enzymes.
