It is primarily used in the management of hepatic encephalopathy, a decline in brain function that occurs as a result of severe liver disease and is linked to elevated ammonia levels. LOLA enhances the synthesis of urea and glutamine, facilitating the detoxification of ammonia in the liver and brain, thereby improving neurological symptoms.
