A drug for Type 2 Diabetes belonging to the DPP-4 inhibitor class. It works by inhibiting the enzyme Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4, which normally breaks down incretin hormones (like GLP-1). By preserving incretins, Vildagliptin enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduces glucagon levels.
