Synthetic Vitamin D Analog
A synthetic Vitamin $\text{D}$ analog ($\text{19-nor-1,25-(OH)}_2\text{D}_2$) used for the prevention and treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in $\text{CKD}$. It suppresses $\text{PTH}$ secretion with a lower risk of causing hypercalcemia and hyperphosphatemia compared to Calcitriol.
